Create a Campaign
Campaigns are automated workflows that send messages and perform actions when people meet your criteria. This guide walks you through creating your first campaign in Conviso—end to end.
Before you begin
Know your goal up front. Are you welcoming new signups, nudging inactive users, or announcing a new feature? A clear purpose makes it easy to pick the right trigger and goal.
Campaign creation has two steps:
- Details: Name, goal, exit conditions, and subscription preference
- Workflow: Trigger + the journey
Configure campaign details
To create a campaign from scratch, set the core settings that describe and govern your campaign.
- Go to Campaigns and click Create Campaign.

- Name & description
Give your campaign a clear name so teammates can find it later. Optionally add a short description that explains the purpose.

- Set goal (optional but recommended)
Choose “No” if you don’t want a goal. Otherwise, define what counts as success. Example: goal is achieved when a person performs contact-form-submitted within 1 minute of being sent any delivery from this campaign.

- Exit conditions & subscription preference
- Exit conditions: Decide when people should leave the journey (for example, after achieving the goal, when they no longer match the trigger, or never exiting and completing the flow).
- Subscription preference: Choose who is eligible to receive messages (for example, all subscribed vs. all people).

- Continue to workflow
When you’re done with the details, click Continue to workflow at the bottom of the form.
Set a trigger
In the Workflow step, click Start here and choose how people enter your campaign:
- Segment — People enter when they match a saved segment.
- Event — People enter when they perform a specific event (for example,
order_completed). Frequency is supported (for example,every_time). - Important date (profile attribute) — People enter based on a profile date (for example,
trial_end_at), with an optional time/offset.

After selecting the trigger type, configure the exact trigger. You can add frequency and filter options where available, then click Save.

Build your workflow
Click a plus icon to add your first block, then choose a message channel or a flow control block.
Supported messaging channels include Email, SMS, Push notification, and In-app messaging.
- For emails, refer to the Email Templates page for detailed guidance on setting up emails.
- For in-app messages (modals, banners, and SDK delivery), see In-App Messaging.
- For push, see Push Notifications.

Add as many steps as you need—click any plus sign to insert the next block where it makes sense.

Start your campaign
When your workflow looks good, click Start Campaign. A confirmation modal will appear. If you’d rather keep working, click Save to keep it as a draft.

That’s it—you’ll land on the campaign overview page to see progress and metrics. You can pause or stop the campaign from the overview anytime.
