Sending a Broadcast
A broadcast is a one-time message sent to a defined group of people at the same time. It’s ideal for announcements, alerts, or updates you want to deliver immediately or at a scheduled time—without setting up a full campaign workflow.
Broadcasts are best used when you need to communicate clearly, quickly, and at scale.
How broadcasts work
A broadcast consists of a single message delivered to a selected audience. You can choose to send it instantly or schedule it for a later time.
Common use cases include:
- Notifying users about changes to your terms of service
- Announcing new features or maintenance windows
- Sending onboarding or account-level updates to a specific group
Creating and sending a broadcast
Setting up a broadcast is straightforward. During creation, you’ll configure the following steps:
- Go to Broadcasts and click Create Broadcast
- Name your broadcast
- Choose your Recipients
- Set a Goal
- Create your message Content
- For content refer to the Email Templates page for detailed guidance on setting up emails.
- Review and Send or Schedule the broadcast

Each step includes additional options explained below.
Recipients
You can choose who receives your broadcast in one of two ways:
- People matching conditions
- Everyone in the workspace
People matching conditions
Selecting this option lets you target a specific audience using segments or profile attributes.
Segment conditions
Send a broadcast to people who:
- Belong to specific segments, or
- Do not belong to specific segments

Attribute conditions
Target people based on their profile data. You can filter attributes that:
- Exist or don’t exist
- Are equal to a value
- Are not equal to a value
This is useful for personalisation and account-specific messaging.

Subscription preferences
You can choose whether to send your broadcast to:
- All subscribed people
- All subscribed and unsubscribed people
⚠️ Important:
Sending messages to unsubscribed users may violate anti-spam regulations in your country. Misuse can result in account suspension or termination. Only include unsubscribed users when you have a clear legal basis to do so.
Goal: define success for your broadcast
Goals help you measure the effectiveness of your broadcast. A broadcast is considered successful when a recipient:
- Performs a specific event
- Enters a segment
- Exits a segment
Goals provide insight into how your message impacts user behaviour after delivery.
